Everton completely dominated the ball.

We started brightly.. It was then all Everton for 20 minutes, the 15 minutes before half time when we scored twice we looked quite good.

I was expecting us to come out second half looking like a team that was two up against a team that can't score, but of course not. We allowed them the ball and dropped deep.

How naive am I?

Watching the match back they could have scored twice in the opening minutes of the second half, a better team would have.

Considering Moyes reckons we're shit because he's had to turn us into a possession based team to improve, we're not exactly having much possession this season compared to previous ones, are we?

Mex, did you watch the West Ham Vs Everton game? But hard to know for sure with you, but if you did, how on earth can you not believe those possession stats? Everton dominated the ball, luckily for us they are the shittest team in the league going forward.

Possession always used to be a reflection of the number of passes made by each team. Don't know if it is more sophisticated now

Are we massive again?
How do they work out those possession stats, cannot believe them. Anyone else find them hard to believe having watched the game?

A much needed three points and a decent improvement but it buys Moyes more time.
Everton (not that I care)we’re absolute dog shit ,a side that looks doomed.
Can we turn it round now under Moyes ?
Fuck knows.
A convincing win at Derby might get some fight back in some of the players.
Wishful thinking I suppose.

I said before I thought we'd win but only due to Everton's shitness. The first goal changed the game, gave us confidence and flattened them, before that it was the usual shit.

Pretty sure we will be bottom 3 by the time we play Forest at home, who will be a bigger test than Everton.

Ings is going to help us and we may have one or two more in before end of month, still say we will stay up as we have enough good players to nick a few wins to give us enough points imo.

Do what pdc?

I don’t care how other teams play, shit or not, I care about how we play and we’ve been shit.

Why are you crying about it being ok for other teams to be shit? Who’s ever gave you that idea?

I get why Rios said what he did. I’ve not seen the same Rice this season that we had the last two seasons.

If I’m being harsh he’s phoning it in a bit waiting for his big move, as falling at the semi final hurdle last season made him realise he ain’t winning owt with us.

It is open knowledge at the club this is his last season hence the failed attempt to sign Onana.

Moyes fucked the players not buying last January, Rice is a clever footballer he’d have known they were let down. Therefore Moyes fucked his chance of glory with us.

I also think he’s struggling with the captaincy, he’s very young and maybe not natural captain material. Botham and Flintoff weren’t in a cricket comparison.

He’s still our best player in the CM spot mind you, but is too slow on the ball for me but he’s hardly got players buzzing around him. Looking better and a bit quicker today with Paquetta.

On the subject of Downes how he is not ahead of Soucek in the pecking order is beyond me, impresses every time he plays. I’d start him at Derby with Rice with Paquetta just ahead and have them alternate who bombs on.

Only watched the highlights, glad we won of course but 1 win against a dog shit Everton doesn't tell you much.

No Cresswell was a plus and with Ings now on the books Zouma and Aguerd available and Bowen getting a couple hopefully we can get out of this mess.

Because Rice is class people expect too much and he can't win.

He's a DM who isn't there to create anything (though clearly has it in his locker) so when he does happy days and as he's generally been paired with that useless cunt soucek and has awful full backs either side, has been on the back foot generally.

Can't be bothered to look, but I'd imagine thanks to him there are only a handful of teams who have conceded less than us, our problem has been our negative shit play means we haven't scored enough this season.

3 points was the aim today, but still looked shit.

This season is only about survival sadly. If we win this stupid European tin pot cup it will be a bonus.

Get through this season, secure a takeover, new season, team and manager in the premier league.

On Ings, I picked up earlier from that Villa fan reference that he wins free kicks
I noticed that today, buys a tactical foul when needed
Shrewd player

Fucking he’ll Stubbo what what player were you watching? It obviously weren’t Ings.

Ings is quick across the ground, the ball didn’t bounce off him once, he held and set it every time and his movement was sharp and into great areas.

only run I wasnt sure about was when Declan shot across the face of goal but i'm certain he must have thought that someone was in behind and he was making the room.

As for Antonio i agree best he's played in a while but he didn't lead the line, he ran channels, thats the only reason he had an affect on the game, mainly because he is a winger and not a striker.

I'm glad we got three points today, but it really wasn't a great display. Everton were shit. Probably the worst team that we've played at home (in the league) this season. Thankfully, it seemed that they didn't want to shoot. Perhaps they are playing to get FL jr the sack.

The atmosphere was flat today from both sets of fans. I was expecting the Everton fans to make a lot of noise, even if it was just anti board stuff. But no, hardly a peep from them.

I thought Ings looked good and you could see the class and intelligence that he’ll bring to the team, as a proven Premier League striker.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread - Preview
Best game I've seen Antonio have in a while. Led the line well. Ings showed exactly why I'm not convinced he'll work in our setup...just not a one up top striker...no pace, power or strength to hold it up. Will go the way of Chicharito.

Drop Rice? That’s absolutely ridiculous. One of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever read on here.
